The first of a planned series of visits to places of interest to Cluster members took place on Tuesday 10th Jan to Sci-Tech Daresbury. Cluster members from public sector bodies, technology SMEs and service providers learnt about the facilities at Daresbury, how they can access the facilities and also had the opportunity to meet other cluster members.
Katharine Robertson and John Leake gave a talk on Sci-Tech Daresbury and STFC followed by a visit to the University of Liverpool Virtual Engineering Centre including a demonstration on their giant screens!
We then visited the Hartree Centre to hear about the data analysis they have done and the data visualisation techniques they use to show the results of their analysis – on more giant screens!
Finally we visited the Campus Technology Hub to see the Rapid Prototyping facilities they have and how they can be used to support businesses. It was great to see and learn about the fantastic resources available.
